Lorne Avenue construction starting Tuesday, partial road closure on Dufferin Avenue postponed

Municipal officials say Lorne Avenue in Wallaceburg, between Dufferin Avenue and Elizabeth Street, will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 7 a.m. until Friday, October 7, 2022 at 6 p.m.

The reason is for storm and sanitary sewer replacements, watermain replacement and road reconstruction, Municipal officials say.

All lanes will be closed and local traffic will be permitted up to excavation areas within the work zone.

“Emergency vehicles will have access into the work zone,” Municipal officials say.

“Excavation areas will not be accessible.”

In a separate release, Municipal officials say the partial road closure on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg has been postponed

“Note that the two westbound lanes of Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg between McNaughton Avenue and Selkirk Street will not be closed Tuesday, August 30 as previously mentioned,” Municipal officials say.

“Traffic will not be affected on Dufferin. This work is part of the Lorne Avenue Reconstruction Project.”
