Kimball Road Bridge set to be closed for rehabilitation

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has secured a contractor, Front Construction Industries Inc., for the rehabilitation of the Kimball Road Bridge over Otter Creek, in the Community of Chatham Township.

Commencing Monday September 19, 2022 (subject to weather), the Kimball Road Bridge will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

“It is anticipated that the project will be completed by approximately December 5, 2022,” Municipal officials say.

“Chatham-Kent is committed to working with Front Construction Industries Inc. to maintain a safe and orderly worksite. All efforts will be made to reduce the impact on the surrounding areas. Construction sites have many potential hazards and extreme caution should be taken by adhering to the safety requirements and to stay outside of the construction zones.”

Municipal officials say two detours will be posted to direct traffic around the site, which includes:

– Detour #1 is comprised of: McCreary Line, Brigden Road (Chatham-Kent and St.Clair Township), Lambton Line (St.Clair Township).

– Detour #2 is comprised of: Murray Street (Wallaceburg), McNaughton Avenue (Wallaceburg), Dufferin Avenue (Wallaceburg), Highway 40, Langstaff Line.
