Man arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 8:03 a.m., police responded to a disturbance on Flemingo Street in Blenheim.

Through investigation, police learned the man engaged in a verbal argument with two women.

The argument escalated when he assaulted both women by pushing one down some stairs and the other against a wall.

The altercation moved to a bedroom, where the man threw an unhinged door at both women.

No one sustained any serious injuries as a result of the incident.

The 37-year-old Blenheim man was located a short distance away, arrested and was charged with two counts of assault and two counts of assault with a weapon.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of October 31, 2022.

Man arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 9:11 a.m. yesterday, police responded to a theft at Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Police learned security personnel observed the man concealing items on his person and consuming unpurchased products.

As police arrived, the man was found leaving the store without paying for the items and was arrested.

The 33-year-old Walpole Island man was transported to police headquarters and charged with theft and possession.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of October 27, 2022.

Man arrested for mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 5:38 p.m., police responded to Prince Street South for a mischief complaint.

Through investigation, police learned the man attended a family member’s home and engaged in a verbal argument.

The man punched a vehicle owned by the family member, causing damage.

The man left the area as police were called.

Police arrived and located the man a short distance away.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was charged with mischief and later released with conditions and a future court date of October 31, 2022.
