Knox Food Pantry and Soup Cellar revamp their kitchen in Wallaceburg thanks to FCC grant

The Knox Food Pantry and Soup Cellar recently received a $20,000 grant, which helped them revitalize their kitchen.

Shirley Lalonde, one of the coordinators for the Soup Cellar, told the Sydenham Current their group received the Agri-Spirit Grant from Farm Credit Canada.

Lalonde said the “sizable” grant allowed them to revamp their entire kitchen, located at Knox Presbyterian Church, 251 Duncan Street in Wallaceburg.

They held a grand opening on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 and a ribbon cutting ceremony was held.

Dana Haggith caught up with Lalonde for an interview. Listen, below:

The Soup Cellar is held every Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the doors closing at 1 p.m.
