Man arrested for bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 21, 2022, at 6:50 p.m., a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, the officer discovered the man, a passenger, was bound by conditions of a release order to remain on a specific property with specific conditions.

The man was arrested.

The 51-year-old Walpole Island man was transported to police headquarters and charged with failing to comply with a release order.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 1, 2022, police responded to a King Street West business in Chatham for a theft investigation.

Police learned the man attended the business and removed a bell from the entrance.

The man was also bound by conditions of a probation order not to attend the business.

On September 22, 2022, at 1:16 a.m., police located the man on Wellington Street East in Chatham.

The 48-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was charged with theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of October 31, 2022.

Man arrested for break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 8, 2022, police responded to a Charring Cross Road commercial property for a break and enter investigation.

The police received information two suspects were at the location removing material.

Police arrived and observed two men attempting to flee the area.

One man surrendered to police and was arrested.

The other man fled but was identified.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On September 22, 2022, at 2:35 a.m., police located the man on Grand Avenue East in Chatham and arrested him.

The 44-year-old Sarnia man was charged with break and enter and possession of break-in instruments.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
