Tickets for the ‘Crow Your Boat’ race are now on sale.
The race is a fundraiser for Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario, and part of the Crowfest festivities happening October 12 to 15 in downtown Chatham.
Organizers say 10 Crows, sponsored by local businesses and organizations that have given prizes, will race down the Thames River on Saturday, October 15 at 5 p.m.
The top prize of a $10,000 gift card For Lally Auto Group or $10,000 cash, has been donated by Lally Auto Group and Chatham Chrysler.
“We love supporting new festivals and activities that bring the community together,” stated Adam Lally, of Lally Auto Group, in a media release.
“Crowfest has all the elements of becoming one of the best festivals in Ontario, we are excited to be part of it, and to be supporting a great charity at the same time,” added Mike Hogue, General Manager, Chatham Chrysler, in a media release.
“We can’t believe the generosity of the Chatham-Kent business community,” said Bailey Tschirsow, Outreach and Events Director for Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario, in a press release
“Within just a few short weeks CK businesses stepped up with $17,000 in prizes.”
Mayor Darrin Canniff, co-chair of Crowfest 2022, says, this is another great example of Chatham-Kent working together.
“We put out the call and these businesses answered immediately,” Canniff said, in a media release.
Jay Denorer, entertainment chair For Crowfest 2022, said they have been working on the logistics of racing the crows down the river and have done testing the past couple of weekends
“We are good to go,” he said, in a press release.
Tickets are $10 a piece or $20 for three.
Organizers say tickets will be available at Loaded 2 Go restaurant located at 200 King Street West Chatham, and at all Crowfest activities.
