The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission has issued a notice to water users in Dresden and Chatham Township, east of Kimball Road.
PUC officials say the Public Works Department will be flushing fire hydrants starting on Monday, October 24, 2022 until approximately Friday, October 28, 2022.
Hours of flushing will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Residents may experience low water pressure or discoloured water as a result of the flushing,” PUC officials said on social media.
“Caution should be exercised during this period for possible discoloured water, prior to doing laundray to ensure water is clear. Should you experience discoloured water, allow the water to run for 5-10 minutes, which should alleviate the problem.”
PUC officials added if discolouration of the water continues after 24 to 48 hours of normal use, notify Public Works at 519-360-1998 or 311 on your cell phone.
