Police: Stolen ATV, assault, impaired driving

Stolen ATV

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday, November 4, 2022, police were called to an address on Cedar Hedge Line regarding a theft.

The investigation revealed unknown suspects stole a 2000 Polaris ATV, black in colour sometime between November 1, 2022 and November 3, 2022.

Assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 9:09 a.m. police were called to an address on Fourth Street, Chatham for a complaint of an assault.

Investigation revealed a man approached a group gathered outside his window and slapped one of the men because he was upset for being woken up.

The 35-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault, and later released from custody with a future court date to answer to the charge.

Impaired driver

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 11:24 p.m. police were called to the Lorne Avenue area in Chatham regarding an unconscious person being in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

The driver began to awaken and started to drive off slowly.

Officers intercepted the vehicle and after investigating, arrested the driver for impaired operation of a conveyance.

He was subsequently transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters to provide breath samples.

The 31-year-old Thamesville man provided breath samples over the legal limit.

He has been charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus).

He was released from custody with a future court date to answer to the charges.
