Police: Impaired driving, assault, drugs, intoxicated in public

Woman arrested for assault and drug offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:12 a.m., police responded to Terry Street in Wallaceburg for a disturbance.

Through investigation, police learned there had been an altercation between two women where one spat on the other.

The woman was located a short time later and arrested.

Upon a search, incident to arrest, suspected methamphetamine was found on the woman.

The 52-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with assault and possession of a controlled substance.

She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a court date of December 8, 2022.

Man arrested for being intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:43 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Sheldon Avenue in Chatham.

Upon arrival, police located the man in the parking lot, intoxicated and unable to care for himself.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

The 22-year-old Chatham man was issued a Provincial Offence Notice and held until he was sober.

Woman arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 7, 2022, at 4:07 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Merritt Avenue in Chatham.

The vehicle was travelling east on Riverview Drive and failed to negotiate the right turn onto Merritt Avenue.

The vehicle jumped the curb and struck a tree on Merritt Avenue.

Through investigation, officers believed the woman was driving her car while under the influence of alcohol, and she was arrested.

The woman was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 37-year-old Chatham woman has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

She has been released with conditions pending a future court date of November 21, 2022.
