Man arrested on warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, just before 8 a.m., the Windsor Police Service contacted CKPS, informing them that they had a male in custody that was currently wanted by Chatham-Kent Police.

An officer attended the Windsor Police station and arrested a 29-year-old man for Theft of a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000.

He was released with a future court date of January 9, 2023.

Man arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at approximately 9 a.m. Lakeshore OPP notified CKPS that they had a male in custody that was currently wanted by Chatham-Kent Police.

An officer attended the Lakeshore OPP detachment and arrested 22 year old Wallaceburg man.

He was released with a future court date of January 9, 2023.

Woman arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, just before 1 p.m. police were called to the Walmart in Chatham in regards to a shoplifting complaint.

Walmart security reported that a woman had just walked out of the store with a full cart of items and had since fled in a vehicle.

As officers were responding, the vehicle was intercepted and stopped on Third St.

The Chatham woman was arrested and charged with Theft and Possession Under $5,000.

She was also found to be driving with a suspended license and was charged with that as well.

She was released from custody with a future court date of December 19, 2022.

Traffic stop leads to impaired charge

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, just before 11 p.m., officers had just completed a RIDE program in Chatham and were on their way back to the station.

While doing so they observed a vehicle driving erratically on Inshes Avenue in Chatham.

The vehicle pulled into a driveway and officers stopped to speak with the driver.

Through investigation, officers formed grounds to arrest the driver for impaired driving.

The accused was transported to CKPS HQ where she was to provide breath samples, however, refused to do so.

A Chatham woman was charged with Impaired Operation and Refusal to Provide breath samples.

She was later released with a future court date of December 12, 2022.

Traffic stop leads to over 80 charge

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, just after 1 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Vanier Drive in Chatham.

Through investigation, officers suspected that that driver was under the influence of alcohol and therefore completed a roadside breath test which resulted in a Fail.

The driver, a Chatham woman, was arrested for over 80 and brought to the OPP station for further breath tests.

She was released with a future court date of December 12, 2022.
