Lance White

Lance Douglas ‘Spear’ White, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022 at the age of 83.

Lance was the son of the late Eldridge McGahey and Elizabeth White.

Loving father of Sam Lefthand and Gregory Thomas Cordero.

Loved brother of Michael White, Lori, Karen, Deborah and Linda Thompson, Linda Riley, Deborah Plain, Christine Whiteye, Paul Riley, Valarie Waboose, Ralph Riley and the late Rosemarie Thompson, Freida Dishman, Allison Riley and Cheryl Riley.

Chosen brother of the late George Thomas, Jr. Bearskin, John Snake, Louis & Colleen Johnson and Robert ‘Bad Bob’ Soney.

Predeceased by his former wife and dear friend Pauline Bressette.

He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces & nephews.

Lance attended the University of Michigan and was a huge fan of Wolverine football and basketball.

He was the owner of Shadow Chaser Photography and was Pow Wow emcee extraordinaire.

Lance was also proud of his 40 years of sobriety and will be missed by his special brothers in sobriety, Arland White & his wife Aletta and Darryl Blackbird.

He greeted friends each morning saying “May you walk in Beauty”.

Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, 519-627-3231.

Family visiting will be from 2-6 PM on Sunday with community visiting from 2-6 PM on Monday.

The sending off and back settlement tour will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 29 at 11 AM.
