2022 Jingle All The Way Run gathers shoes for Homes for Hope & raises funds for St. Vincent de Paul

The 2022 Jingle All The Way Run was held in downtown Wallaceburg on Saturday, December 10, 2022.

Over 50 pairs of shoes were gathered for Homes For Hope and over $1,300 was raised for St. Vincent de Paul.

“On behalf of Homes For Hope, these shoes are always a hot item,” said Wallaceburg’s Mike deBakker.

“This is the third year (for the shoe fundraiser) and this is always one of the first things they always ask for, ‘where are the running shoes?’. The other thing, making this run possible for St. Vincent de Paul today, I know my Dad was always a part of it, it’s an awesome thing. There is a lot of need. Congratulations to all of you for doing this.”

deBakker, and a crew of local residents, bring the shoe donations annually to El Salvador, as part of the ‘Homes for Hope’ program.

The program and its volunteers build new homes and distribute donated clothing, medical and school supplies in El Salvador.

A brunch was held at The Black Goose Grill in Wallaceburg following the run as well.
