Winter storm watch issued in Chatham-Kent

A winter storm watch has been issued in Chatham-Kent, as winter storm is expected Sunday, February 16, 2025.

Forecasters say snowfall accumulations could possibly exceed 15 cm and poor visibility is expected in heavy snow and blowing snow.

The storm is expected to begin early Sunday morning and ending Sunday evening.

“Another significant winter storm is forecast to bring heavy snowfall and blowing snow to the area,” forecasters say.

“There may also be a chance of freezing rain for areas near Lake Erie. There remains some uncertainty as to which areas will receive the heaviest snowfall amounts, as well as if freezing rain mixes with snow. People are advised to monitor future forecasts.”

Forecasters added: “Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Avoid travel if possible. For information on emergency plans and kits go to getprepared.gc.ca.”
