Lambton OPP: Dangerous driving, flight from police, drug charges

Traffic stops leads to drug charges

Lambton OPP officials allege: On January 23, 2023, at 2:10 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle on St. Clair Parkway without it’s rear lights illuminated.

A traffic stop was conducted, and officers confirmed the lighting on the vehicle was operational.

The driver was identified as a prohibited driver and was placed under arrest.

After a search resulted in suspected methamphetamine the passenger in the vehicle was also taken into custody.

A 36-year-old Sarnia woman and a 26-year-old St. Clair Township man have been charged with the following:

– Possession of a schedule 1 substance.

The Sarnia woman has also been charged with the following:

– Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia at a later date.

Dangerous driving in St. Clair Township

Lambton OPP officials allege: On January 21, 2023 at 6:30 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an address on Brigden Road after multiple occurrences of an identified driver travelling at high rates of speed and failing to stop for police.

Officers located the individual in a residence and took him into custody.

A 31-year-old St. Clair Township man has been charged with the following:

– Flight from a peace officer (two counts),

– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle (two counts).

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia at a later date.
