Love of animals sparks fundraiser in Wallaceburg

A girl with a big heart and a love of animals has launched a fundraiser in Wallaceburg.

Community Living Wallaceburg officials say Tascha has been dreaming about pursuing her goal of helping local animals for over a year.

“Animals should be treated as if they are a member of your family, and should never go hungry, unloved or mistreated,” she said, when asked about her motive to support local shelters, a cause not only dear to her heart, but one that gives back to her community.

Community Living Wallaceburg officials say this perspective stemmed from Tascha’s childhood where much of her time was spent caring for and fostering a variety of animals.

Tascha, a local resident of Wallaceburg, is collecting donations of new and gently used pet toys, beds, crates, food, and treats, for any and all types of animals.

All donations will support the Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR), and other local shelters.

Anyone interested helping Tascha achieve her dream is invited to drop items off at the Community Living Wallaceburg Office at 1100 Dufferin Avenue, before February 28, 2023.

Together, with the support of Community Living Wallaceburg and the community, Tascha believes she can achieve her goal of supporting local shelters and animals in Chatham-Kent, Community Living Wallaceburg officials say.

Community Living Wallaceburg co-creates, designs and delivers supports that empower people to overcome barriers and live the life they choose.

“With the support of those around them, people can dream, believe, overcome and achieve,” Community Living Wallaceburg officials said in a media release.
