Woman arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:50 a.m., police responded to Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft complaint.

Police learned the woman left the store with a cart full of merchandise and made no attempt to pay for them.

The woman was observed entering a vehicle and leaving the area.

Descriptions of the woman and her vehicle were provided to the police.

Through investigation, police identified the woman.

At 1:34 p.m., the woman was located and arrested on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

The 24-year-old Wallaceburg woman was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property.

She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of March 6, 2023.

Man arrested for break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:02 p.m., police responded to a business on Selkirk Street in Wallaceburg for a break-and-enter in progress.

Police arrived on the scene and located the man on the property.

Police also confirmed a window had been broken to the business.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

The 25-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with breaking and entering.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of March 6, 2023.

Woman arrested for intoxicated in a public place

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:40 p.m., police responded to a Tim Horton’s on Third Street in Chatham for a disturbance.

Police arrived and located the woman intoxicated.

The 30-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

She was issued a Provincial Offence Notice and released.
