OPP officials allege: On February 17, 2023, at approximately 1:38 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle travelling on Communication Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding 110 Km/h in a posted 60 Km/h zone. As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 23-year-old of Sharon, Ontario was charged with the following: Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt.
OPP officials allege: On February 17, 2023, at approximately 10:18 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle travelling on the Eastbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding 165 Km/h in a posted 100 Km/h zone. As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 21-year-old of St. Davids, Ontario was charged with the following: Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed.
OPP officials allege: On February 18, 2023, between 1:43 p.m. and 3:35 p.m., members of the Chatham Detachment conducted focused speed enforcement of the Westbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent. As a result, 10 drivers were charged with: Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit.
OPP officials allege: On February 20, 2023, at approximately 12:27 p.m., members of the Chatham Detachment responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) on the Westbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, involving a passenger vehicle and transport truck. The passenger vehicle was occupied by 4 individuals who were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the transport truck was not injured. As a result of the investigation, the driver of the passenger vehicle, a 41-year-old of Windsor, Ontario was charged with the following: Careless Driving.
OPP officials allege: On February 20, 2023, at approximately 3:49 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle travelling on St. Clair Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding 125 Km/h in a posted 80 Km/h zone. As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 53-year-old of Wallaceburg, Ontario was charged with the following: Speeding 1 -49 Km/h over posted limit, driving while under suspension, fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle and fail to surrender insurance card.
