Man arrested for bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:12 a.m., while on general patrol, police located a man on Grand Avenue East in Chatham that was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

The man was wanted for failing to comply with the conditions of a probation order.

The 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested, charged and released with a future court date of March 20, 2023.

Man arrested for stolen property

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 21, 2023, police responded to a theft investigation on King Street West in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned the owner located their stolen property at a resale store in Chatham.

Police attended the store and learned the man brought the stolen property to the resale business in January 2023.

His identification was confirmed, and a warrant was sought after the police could not locate him.

On February 26, 2023, at 11:16, the 22-year-old Florence man was located and arrested.

He was charged with possessing stolen property and released with a future court date of March 24, 2023.

Man arrested for bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:22 p.m., police responded to King Street East for a bail violation investigation.

Through investigation, police learned the man approached an individual he was on conditions to not communicate with, not be within 20 meters of and not to be within 100 metres of the person’s home or place of work.

Police also learned this violation had occurred on several other occasions.

Police arrived and, after a short foot chase, arrested the man.

The 26-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with criminal harassment and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:04 p.m., police responded to Walmart on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg for a theft investigation.

Upon arrival, police learned the woman concealed electronics and food on her person and left the store without attempting to pay for the merchandise.

The woman entered a vehicle and was attempting to leave the area.

Police located the woman in the parking lot, and she was arrested.

The 36-year-old Chatham woman was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property.

She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of March 20, 2023.

Woman arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:15 p.m., police responded to St. Clair Street in Chatham for an impaired driving investigation.

Upon arrival, the police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The officer believed the woman to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and transported to headquarters for breath tests.

A 37-year-old Ridgetown woman was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

She was released with conditions and a future court date of March 20, 2023.
