Stolen vehicle tracked from Toronto Pearson Airport to Walpole Island

Lambton OPP officials allege: On March 4, 2023, at 10:30 p.m., members of the Walpole Island Police Service (WIPS) and Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted regarding a vehicle that had been stolen from Pearson International Airport earlier in the day.

The owner provided tracking information and the vehicle was located at an address on Blackbird Lane.

Through further investigation officers were able to identify the individual responsible, who was taken into custody at the Blackbird Land location.

A 33-year-old Walpole Island First Nation man has been charged with the following:

– Possession of property obtained by crime – over $5,000.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
