Driver gets stuck on train tracks in Chatham, charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 11, 2023 members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a vehicle being stuck on the rail tracks in Chatham.

While driving on William Street South in Chatham, a 27-year-old woman mistook the rail tracks for a road and turned onto them, becoming stuck.

Police responded to remove the vehicle and determined the driver to be intoxicated by alcohol.

She was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath samples.

The accused provided samples exceeding the legal limit.

The accused was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 and released with a future court date.
