Wind warning in effect across Chatham-Kent

A wind warning is in effect across Chatham-Kent, as strong winds are expected this afternoon into this evening.

Environment Canada officials say hazards, include: Strong southwesterly winds gusting to 90 or 100 km/h.

The timing is this afternoon into this evening.

“Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 100 km/h are forecast to develop this afternoon,” forecasters say.

“These winds are expected to continue into this evening before easing. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.”
