In celebration of World No Tobacco Day, CK Public Health has announced the availability of a new quit smoking resource in Chatham-Kent in partnership with The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
Beginning in May, the “CK STOP Program” will be available to Chatham-Kent residents looking to quit smoking and/or vaping through the use of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) such as patches and/or gum.
This program will be available to residents at least 18 years of age who do not currently have a primary care provider and meet the programs’ eligibility criteria.
Those eligible can receive up to 26 weeks of free NRT products, as well as access to other counselling supports of their choice.
The program will offer bi-monthly, in-person sessions as well as a “mail-out” model for those who prefer to make a quit attempt on their own with up to eight weeks of NRT products.
