Murray Dierx

Mr. Murray Isaak Dierx, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, at the age of 94.

Murray was born in Dunnville, Ontario and was a son of the late Piet and Johanna (Geelhoed) Dierx.

Beloved husband of the late Rose (VanVaerenberghe) Dierx (2019).

Loving father of Jeanne Dierx (the late Ed) and Peter (Nancy) Dierx.

Sadly missed by his grandchildren Donna Lashmore, Richard (Renee) Fehr, Robert Dierx, James Dierx and Natalie Dierx and his great grandchildren Jacob (Hellene), Jessi, Willow and Juniper.

Predeceased by his brother Jacob (the late Janke) Dierx and his sisters Mary (the late George) Rabideau and Corrie (the late John) Armitage.

Murray retired from “The Glass Factory” after 45yrs and enjoyed retirement as a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society and playing euchre with “Retirees of Libbey Glass”. He loved animals, playing cards, especially euchre, and loved to travel especially cruises & “The Old County”.

Murray was famous for using the term “once” in conversation. Anyone who knew Murray were always asked to visit or do something “ONCE”.

The late Murray Dierx rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.

Following his wishes, cremation will take place.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to Chatham-Kent Hospice may be left at the funeral home.
