Suspicious person complaint leads to arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to the report of a suspicious man in the area of Duke Street in Wallaceburg.
Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident at the LCBO in Chatham.
He was also wanted for failing to comply with his Probation Order.
The 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged.
He was released pending a future court date of June 5, 2023.
Pair found breaching release conditions
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 5 a.m. this morning, officers responded to call for assistance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, officers learned that the man and woman were in the company of each other, regardless of the woman being on conditions not to associate with him.
The 23-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with her release conditions.
She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with facilitating a breach.
He remains in police custody pending release with a future court date.
Motor vehicle collision in Tilbury East Township
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Davidson Road near Pollard Line.
Thankfully, no one was physically injured. Total damage was estimated at $40,000.
The driver at fault was charged with start from stopped position – not in safety.
