Firefighters from Station #1 and #2 – Chatham responded to Princess Street in Chatham for a detached garage fire on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 2:25 p.m.
“When crews arrived, the garage was fully involved with flames spreading across the grass and to a neighbour’s fence,” fire officials said in a media release.
“Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire and stop further damage to neighboring properties. The garage and contents were completely destroyed as a result of the fire with an estimated value of $10,000. Damage to neighboring property was estimated at $5,000.”
Fire officials added there were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
Cause remains undetermined, fire officials say.
