Youth arrested for uttering threats

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 17, 2023, police responded to Degge Street in Chatham for a threats investigation.

Through investigation, police learned the victim received a phone call from the youth.

During the conversation, the youth commented on harming the victim.

On May 22, 2023, the youth attended the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned herself into the police.

The 15-year-old Wheatley youth was charged with uttering threats.

She was released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:38 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Victoria Avenue in Chatham.

Upon arrival, police located the man and confirmed he was wanted on outstanding warrants.

The warrants were related to bail violations.

The 43-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and failing to attend court.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
