Sydenham River Spring Paddle and Clean taking place on Saturday

The Sydenham River Spring Paddle and Clean is taking place on Saturday, May 27th, 2023.

“If you want to come out and do something to support our local environment, mark May 27 on your calendar,” organizers said on social media.

“We meet up at the river behind the big blue building at 6850 Base Line in Wallaceburg, Ontario N8A 2K6. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We ask that most participants come in non-motorized vessels and we welcome small runabouts to help pull out some of the bigger stuff.”

Organizers added that launching is free and parking is available at that location.

“We have had a great deal of muddy fun… please dress appropriately for weather and mud… so come on out and try it if you want to spend some good time in nature, deepen your connection with the river and help out with with other nature loving people,” organizers say.

“If you do not have a water craft, come anyway… we may be able to lend you one and we always need help on shore with gathering and weighing the garbage we collect. Magnet fishers are also welcome.”
