Special to the Sydenham Current
Dresden Christian Concerts returns for the 2023 season with a unique lineup of gifted talent, combining music with a message on Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
The summer kicks off with perennial favorite One A-Chord, who will share their vocal and spiritual harmonies on June 25.
Mercy trio Helen, Margie & Micki bring their beautiful harmonies and touching testimonies on July 2.
Eduard Klassen, the master of the Paraguayan harp, has performed concerts at several churches in the area, but this is his first time joining us.
He will bring a full hour of music and testimony on July 9.
Hank and Janet Sonnenberg, the award-winning Canadian Gospel Music Association couple, have been singing Gospel music together for 50 years.
They will bring their sweet musical ministry on July 16. Dresden favorites Marc & Kim Reid will bring their fine musicianship and faithful message on July 23.
The Evangel Chatham Worship Team will bring contemporary worship featuring Pastor Shane Fitch on July 30.
The Spanish ministry from West Park London will grace us on Aug. 6.
Those who attended last year will remember their rhythmic music and passionate message, not to mention the impromptu mass prayer at the close of the concert.
The Torchmen quartet, one of the finest Southern gospel groups in Canada, will return on Aug. 13, bringing their gifted sound and faithful witness.
Faith Baptist Wallaceburg Worship Team with Pastor Wayne Hasson, one of last year’s favorites, will provide a fine blend of worship and praise, bringing the whole crowd along with them into worship on Aug. 20.
Dave Randall will bring powerful vocals and heartfelt stories on Aug. 27.
The much-in-demand Gospel soloist has played a part in seven Covenant Award nominations from the Canadian Gospel Music Association for his songwriting and performing.
The Chapelaires, consisting of Myrna Hand, Phil Pugh, and David & Sheila Jackson, will bring their wonderful Southern Gospel sound to close out the season on Sept. 3.
Dave & Sheila formed the group in 1968, and they continue strong.
Unless otherwise noted, a short gospel message will be provided by a local pastor each week.
The concerts will take place on the property of Total Grain Systems (1233 North Street in Dresden – the former Mid-County Ford).
In case of rain, the location will be Dresden Christian Reformed Church.
All evenings will start at 6:30 p.m.
You can listen from your vehicle or bring lawn chairs and join the friendly crowd in front of the stage.
Each evening typically includes 50 minutes of live music and a 10-minute message.
The concerts are free, but an offering will be taken.
Christian music and messages have been presented in Dresden on summer evenings since the 1960s.
The ministry is currently organized by the Dresden and District Christian Ministerial Association, representing 13 local congregations.
