Man arrested for bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 12, 2023, at 9:50 a.m., police began investigating a bail violation.

Police learned the man was bound by a condition not to go within 25 metres of any place another man to live, work or go to school.

The man broke this condition by walking by the man’s home.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 17, 2023, at 8:31 a.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself into the police.

The 45-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of August 21, 2023.

Man arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 4:46 p.m., an officer located the man on James Street in Blenheim while on general patrol.

The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant, and he was arrested.

The man was wanted for failing to attend court related to failing to comply with a release order, a probation order, and assault charges.

The 38-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to attend court.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:48 p.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.

The woman was observed concealing merchandise and attempting to leave the store without paying for the items.

Police confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for another theft investigation occurring on March 31, 2023.

The 38-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

She has been charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possessing stolen property.

She was released with conditions and a future court date of August 14, 2023.
