Police also received information the woman had been consuming alcohol.
A description of her vehicle and her direction of travel was provided to the police.
At 5:10 p.m., the woman was located driving eastbound on Longwoods Road in Chatham Township.
The officer believed her to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, and she was arrested.
The woman was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The 56-year-old London woman was charged with having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.
She was released with conditions and a future court date of August 14, 2023.
Man arrested for theft
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:48 p.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a shoplifting investigation.
Police learned the man entered the store, removed several bottles from the shelf, and exited without attempting to pay for the merchandise.
A description of the man, his direction of travel and video surveillance were provided to the police.
Police identified the man from previous interactions.
At 9:40 p.m., police located the man walking on Princess Street in Chatham and conducted a person stop.
The officer arrested the man and transported him to police headquarters.
Officers confirmed the man was on a release and probation order for similar offences.
The 25-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
He was held pending a bail hearing.
Man arrested for probation violation
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 9:14 p.m., police located a man lying on his back in a parking lot of the WISH Centre on King Street West in Chatham.
Officers recognized the man from previous interactions.
As officers approached, the man fled on foot.
After a short foot chase, the man was taken into custody.
Officers confirmed his probation conditions, including not being on the WISH Centre property.
He was transported to police headquarters.
The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
He was released with conditions and a future court date of August 14, 2023.
Man arrested for probation violation
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:15 p.m., police responded to Joseph Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Through investigation, police learned the man attended the residence and attempted to break into a vehicle in the driveway and enter the home.
The man was on probation with conditions not to cause a disturbance.
The 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located walking on Emma Street and arrested.
He was charged with failing to comply with a probation order and released with a future court date of August 14, 2023.
