GoFundMe launched for Celine

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched for a local girl.

Sherry Sloan said they are hoping to raise some funds for her granddaughter Celine, who is three-years-old and is one of Robert and Adrienne Sloan’s twins.

“A few weeks ago Celine had taken a few seizures, as time has gone on they (have) become a little more frequent,” Sherry Sloan wrote on the GoFundMe page.

“As of Thursday, she was rushed to the Children’s Hospital in London and now taking cluster seizures frequently. She has been admitted where Mom and Yaya have been by her side 24/7, while dad has had to take time off of work to care for the other two children at home.”

Sherry said they are waiting for the results of a MRI and it looks like they could be at the hospital for some time.

“The last couple of days have been quite severe,” she said.

“With both parents not being able to work, we all know expenses do not stop. Adrienne has always helped the community when they needed a walkway for the school as well as raising $10,000 for Every Child Matters for Walpole Island First Nation.”

Sherry added: “I am asking if you can help just a little in any way it would help the family out, this will be a journey emotionally and financially for the whole family. Most of all Celine and her family can use all the prayers you can give.”

The fundraiser has raised $870 of their $6,000 goal, since launching five days ago.
