Off-road vehicle driver charged with impaired in Port Lambton

OPP officials allege: On August 6, 2023, at 10:18 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on St. Clair Parkway in St. Clair Township, Lambton County, observed an off-road vehicle travelling on the roadway.

A traffic stop was initiated at which time it was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol.

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, a 36-year-old Port Lambton man, has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 11, 2023.

The Lambton OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
