With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Douglas ‘Jim’ Skinner at his home on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the age of 80.
Jim was married to his beloved wife Kathy for 43 years and will be lovingly missed by his children Melissa Saylor, Robert (Rosie) Saylor and Nathan (Dawn) Saylor as well as his grandchildren Keith, Bobby, Darlene (Dmytro), Mercedes (T.J.), Dillon (Jessica) and great grandchildren Annabell, Raquel, Kailea, Natalie, Kylie, Trace, Trent, Emelia, Everly and Damien.
Son of the late Douglas and Dorothy Skinner and dear brother of Priscilla Aliperti and Robert (Rose) Skinner.
Dear Brother-in-Law of Robert (Marion) and Rebecca (the late George) DeBruyn.
He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Many will remember Jim from his time as owner/operator of Slim Jim’s Restaurant in Wallaceburg and Port Lambton as well as his time with the 4th Presbyterian Scouts and for his love of Photography.
Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231), on Monday, September 18, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
His funeral will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11am followed by burial at Riverview Cemetery.
