The Chatham-Kent Police Service is excited to announce the launch of its new Experienced Officer Incentive Program.
“This program aims to attract experienced officers from recognized Canadian Police Agencies by offering a financial incentive to join our service,” Chatham-Kent Police Service officials said in a media release.
“As a progressive and diverse community, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent recognizes the value of hiring experienced officers who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to contribute to our ongoing growth and success. With our effective recruitment process, we aim to continue advancing as both a community and an organization.”
Under the Experienced Officer Incentive Program, officers who hold a rank of first-class or higher from a recognized Canadian Police Agency will be eligible for a lump-sum financial payment of $30,000 upon their swearing-in to the service, police officials say.
This payment will be subject to applicable statutory and standard payroll deductions, police officials added.

“While experienced officers are required to provide documentation consistent with regular applicants, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Certificate (O.A.C.P.) is exempted from this requirement,” police officials added.
“The Chatham-Kent Police Service is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce representative of our community. We strongly encourage and welcome applications from all qualified individuals, as we firmly believe in equal employment opportunities.”
