Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:28 p.m., police responded to Merritt Avenue in Chatham after receiving information on the man’s whereabouts.
The man was wanted on multiple warrants.
Officers attended the area and located the man.
The man attempted to evade police on foot but was quickly taken into custody. Upon a search incident to arrest, suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were found on his person.
The 38-year-old Harwich Township man was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance in addition to his previous charges related to failing to comply with release orders.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
