Tennis and pickleball courts closed for the season across Chatham-Kent

All municipal tennis and pickleball courts are now closed for the season.

“Municipal staff have been busy over the past month winterizing pools, splash pads, park washrooms, and other outdoor recreation facilities,” said Ian Clark, Manager, Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries, in a media release.

“Residents will notice that nets and wind screening are now being removed from our sport courts in order to protect them for the winter.”

In 2023, two stand-alone pickleball courts were opened in Erieau.

A total of eight new pickleball courts were also completed in Blenheim, Dresden, Tilbury, and Wallaceburg with official openings planned for 2024.

Baseball diamonds and other sport fields are also closed.

The public is reminded to stay off wet sport fields to reduce the need for repairs in the Spring.

Tennis and pickleball courts will be re-opened in early April, weather permitting.

Baseball diamonds and sport fields will be available to the public in May.
