Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 21, 2023, at 4:17 a.m., police responded to a home on Park Street West in Chatham for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, the police learned the man and the woman had verbally argued.
When the woman called for police assistance, the man assaulted her.
The man was found on the front porch by officers and arrested.
The 40-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault.
He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
