‘Christmas Town’ was bustling on Saturday, November 25, 2023 as the annual Dresden Christmas Night Market was held.
Organizers Morena McDonald and Tyler Ouellette told the Sydenham Current the numbers were still being finalized, but they anticipate it will be a record amount of attendees.
McDonald and Ouellette said there were 115 vendors, along with a pop-up bar on the street with craft brewers and wine makers from across Chatham-Kent.
Heaters were placed along the streets to create a warm ambience and music was played all throughout the streets.
The organizers said it was a beautiful evening for the event, which started in 2017 and has grown exponentially every year.
Both McDonald and Ouellette credited the tremendous work by the volunteers for continuing to put on an event of this magnitude.
This event is a fundraiser for the Dresden Sidestreets Youth Centre, which provides programs in the community for youth between the ages of 10 to 17.
Both McDonald and Ouellette said they were thankful for a grant provided for the market through the “Together CK” program.
Preparations are already underway for their annual summer market, which will be held in July 2024.
