Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday shortly after 12 p.m., a man entered a business on Queen Street in Chatham.
The man tried to leave the business without paying for the items he had selected.
Two employees attempted to stop the man, in which he assaulted them both.
Luckily, no one was seriously injured.
The 28-year-old Chatham man was located by police a short distance away on St. Patrick Street in Chatham and arrested.
The man was charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime and resist peace officer.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
