Outstanding warrant executed in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1:41 p.m., police responded to Duke Street in Wallaceburg for a well-being check of a man unconscious under a tree.

Officers arrived and found the man sleeping.

Further investigation revealed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court related to several investigations.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

As a result, he was remanded into custody until he appears in court on March 12, 2024, by video.

The 33-year-old Wallaceburg man currently faces the following charges: Unauthorized use of a credit card, careless storage of a firearm/weapon/ammo, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of failing to attend court, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and three counts of fraud.
