Failing to attend court charges laid in Wheatley and Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:17 a.m., police located the man on Erie Street North in Wheatley and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a September 2023 assault investigation.

The 51-year-old Wheatley man was arrested and released with a new court date of May 6, 2024.

He is currently facing the following charges: assault and uttering threats.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:06 p.m., police located the woman on Wellington Street in Chatham and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to two theft investigations.

The 33-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and released with a new court date of April 9, 2024.

She is currently facing the following charges: two counts of theft, and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:19 p.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.

The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on September 27, 2023, in relation to a 2019 intimate partner violence investigation.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: two counts of uttering threats and two counts of failing to attend court.
