Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 4:01 p.m., police responded to College Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.
Officers learned on Saturday, April 6, 2024, a verbal argument between the man and the woman escalated into an assault on the woman.
The woman sustained minor physical injuries.
The 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, and two counts of assault.
He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of May 6, 2024.
