Court order violation in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 22, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Service began investigation into a Court Order Violation in Chatham.

Through investigation, officers learned the man was bound by a court order prohibiting him from being in the presence of or communicating with anyone under the age of 16 unless under supervision by a court approved person.

Officers confirmed the man was breaching this condition as the court had no approved person on record.

On April 8, 2024, the 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He has been charged with breaching a prohibition order.
