Family violence investigation in Chatham leads to sexual assault, sexual interference & assault charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 31, 2024, police began a family violence investigation in Chatham.

The investigation revealed the violence had occurred over several years and affected several individuals.

When the man could not be located as he was out of the country, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On April 9, 2024, the man was arrested at Pearson International Airport upon his return.

The 30-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, four counts of assault with a weapon, five counts of assault causing bodily harm, and eleven counts of assault.
