Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 5:19 p.m., police responded to a business on Wellington Street in Chatham for a theft investigation.
A woman entered the store, removed items from the shelves and exited without paying for the items.
She was located a short distance away.
The 43-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and released with a future court date.
She is currently facing the following charges: theft and possession of stolen property.
She was trespassed from the business.
