Conditional sentence order breach in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 3, 2024 at approximately 5:04 p.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted man on the premise of a property on King Street East in Chatham.

Upon arrival, investigating officers learned that the man was subject to a conditional sentence order, stipulating that he remain in his residence at all times with the exception of attending specific appointments.

Police determined that the man was in violation of this condition, at which time he was placed under arrest without incident.

The 28-year-old Chatham man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters to appear before a Justice of the Peace the following morning.
