CKHA looking for artists to create pieces for the Wallaceburg and Chatham hospitals

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced a call-out for artists to submit applications to create art pieces for both the Chatham and Wallaceburg Sites.

Hospital officials say the goal of this initiative is to enhance the outdoors spaces at both locations, promoting healthcare, beauty, and fostering a sense of tranquility for patients, visitors, and staff.

Artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit their proposals for pieces that will enhance the exterior grounds of both sites.

All mediums are welcome for submission, with the requirement that the artwork is weather-proof, durable, and safe for public display year-round.

“We believe that art has the power to heal and uplift,” says Lori Marshall, President & CEO, CKHA, in a press release.

“This is an opportunity to showcase artistic talent while enhancing the healing environment of our outdoor spaces, furthering our goal of patient family centred care.”

Submissions are open to artists living in Canada.

Artists may submit their proposals as individuals or as part of a group or organization.

A selection committee of CKHA leadership, Patient Advisors and staff will review all submissions.

Detailed information about the project, including application, compensation, and submission instructions can be found at www.ckha.on.ca/public-art-project.

The deadline for submissions is June 7, 2024, at 4 p.m.

CKHA would like to thank the funding from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent which CKHA is matching to provide this opportunity to CKHA and our community.
