Mrs. Kathleen Elizabeth “Kate” (Raspburg) Laprise, of Thamesville, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in Chatham, at the age of 74 with her family by her side.
Kate was born in Chatham, Ontario and was a daughter of the late Anthony Austin and Alice Valerie (Vandenberghe) Raspburg.
Beloved wife of the late Roland Laprise (2023).
Loving mother of Ron (Michelle) Laprise and Kelly (Josh) Fraleigh.
Sadly missed by her grandchildren Tallie, Taryn (Hunter), Corson, Paisley and Bohden. Predeceased by one grandchild, Jaylan.
Kind sister of Angela Szucs and sister-in-law to Eric Williams, Laura (Jack) Renders, Dora (Orville) Couture, Theresa LeClerc, Annette (Jean Michel) Caron, Sylva (Judy) Laprise, J.P. (Bern) Laprise, Louis (Janice) Laprise, Joe (Chris) Laprise, Roger (Patty) Laprise, Jerome (Nat) Laprise, Jeannette (Rob) Howlett, Leonard (France) Laprise, Claud (Virginia) Laprise, Bernice Laprise, Juliette Laprise, Dave Sterling.
Predeceased by her brother Frank (Joyce) Raspburg, her sister Barb Williams, her brothers-in-law George Szucs, Armand Laprise and Gus Jr Laprise and her sisters-in-law Yvette Sterling, Rochelle Laprise and Marie Anne Laprise.
Also sadly missed by her fur grandbaby “Milo”.
Kate was a very devoted and loving Mother and an extremely proud Grandma. She traveled to cheer on her grandchildren at hockey, baseball, swim meets, dance competitions, football and soccer games. Her favourite days were time spent with family and friends; going out to eat, playing the slots and working with her Walmart family. She lived life to the fullest, was always up for a good time and she loved to dance, listen to country music and attend concerts.
The late Kate Laprise rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
Following her wishes, cremation will take place.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 6-10 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 110 Duke Street, Wallaceburg.
