Impaired driving charge laid in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 5:15 a.m., police responded to a call for service on Keil Drive South, in Chatham.

A 26-year-old male had been involved in an earlier domestic related complaint and was later observed by police operating a motor vehicle in area of his girlfriend’s residence.

An Alcohol Screening Device was administered and registered as a failure.

The out of province male was then arrested for impaired over 80+ and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

His vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.

The 26-year-old man was later released with a future court date.
