Beverly ‘Jo’ Schultz

With heavy hearts we announce that our mother’s song came to its final notes on June 8, 2024.

She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and friends after she fought breast cancer for over six years and was reunited with her beloved husband Thomas (2012).

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Erik (Brenda), Ross, Dave (Sheryl), Emily (Brian Davis), and grandchildren Jobi Schultz, Charlie Schultz, and Henry Davis.

Dearest sister of Carol Maxwell and the late Bob Brown (2005).

Jo loved singing and sang in Europe in the Michigan Chorale as a young person.

She sang and played piano in the Kent Glee Club during the 1980s and ’90s, and as a retiree did Sacred Harp singing all over Canada and the U.S.

She was a dedicated gardener, active in the horticulture society of Wallaceburg and garden tour.

She worked for many years as an administrator for St. Clair College.

She was born in Saline, Michigan and completed her undergraduate degree at Alma College and her Master’s in English at University of Michigan before moving to Wallaceburg in 1970.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231).
